Why buildings here are at risk

Brisbane runs high humidity through a long summer, with concentrated rainfall and severe storm activity from November to March. Buildings here face both ambient moisture load and repeated acute water ingress events. The city’s flood history compounds it: 2011 and 2022 both left water in wall cavities, subfloors and lift pits across large parts of the commercial stock, and much of that was dried superficially rather than properly.

Queenslander-era and mid-century commercial buildings with timber structure and subfloor voids that stay damp for months. Post-war brick and block stock across the inner suburbs.
